We the undersigned demand that George Osborne halts the sale of Northern Rock and re-examines the Co-operative Party's proposal for turning it back into a building society.

The Government has not given any good reasons why Northern Rock is not being returned to the mutual sector. The Treasury should release its advice on this issue in full, so taxpayers can make their own minds up about the best future for the bank that they own.
